There is a legal basis that prescribes that a healthcare invoice must include specific data that allows the health insurer to verify the invoice. This specifically involves mentioning the so-called DSM main group diagnoses and the gb-ggz profile on the healthcare invoices.

Since the beginning of 2025, there has been a discussion about the way healthcare performances can be declared. The discussion arose because the NZa has dropped the obligation to mention the DSM main group codes and the gb-ggz profiles on the healthcare invoice as of this year. Health insurers still need to receive this data to verify the invoices. They are also indispensable for the proper functioning of risk equalization.

The Ministry of VWS expects that in April 2025, a regulation will be ready to end this discussion.

Psychiatrie Noord believes that there is still a legal basis for mentioning the aforementioned data on the healthcare invoice. The Ministry of VWS confirms, based on advice from the State Advocate, that the registration of DSM main group diagnoses and the gb-ggz profiles and their forwarding to insurers does not pose any risks.

For Psychiatrie Noord, it is essential that healthcare performances are declared monthly to health insurers. If this does not happen, there is a risk regarding the continuity of care. Additionally, the administrative burden is too great for Psychiatrie Noord to have a consent form signed for its 3,500 patients.
